What’s happening:

🔧 Your teams will have one full month to build your project - flex your skills and let your ideas fly!

🛠️ During the kick-off, we’ll provide seed tools for AI, game ideas, to give your projects a head start.

🎊 Then, on July 20th, we’ll meet in person to celebrate your achievements and showcase your incredible work!

Meet Roya Kandalan, GDE for AI

The Gemini API is Google’s largest and most capable AI model built to empower creatives. Google’s powerful multi-modal model can process text, images, and audio in your apps. With a large context window of 1.5 million tokens, we can’t wait to see what you build. We’re thankful that Roya will share patterns for getting started with Gemini API quickly and some research reflections to help you leverage the AI capabilities robustly and responsibly.

Roya is a research scientist working on advancing artificial intelligence technologies. She has a PhD in Electrical Engineering, is a US patent holder, and has multiple publications in primary journals on electrical engineering, mathematics, and artificial intelligence. Her primary research interests are generative AI, computer vision, and pattern recognition. Roya has developed machine learning solutions for various applications, including healthcare, assistive technologies, and security.

She is enthusiastic about advancing science and passionate about women’s rights. She is a Google Developer Expert in AI/ML, a Google Woman’s Techmaker Ambassador, and a Google Developer Group co-organizer (Cloud Boston). She uses these platforms to enhance women’s confidence in the workplace and advocate for women’s and non-binary individuals’ rights.
